John Roshan Jacob
Dr. John Roshan, MD, DM[Card], CCDS, CEPS, is a Professor of Cardiology at Christian Medical College Vellore.
Training
Dr.John Roshan completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the same institution, earning several awards, including the AV Gandhi Prize for Excellence in Cardiology. He received his initial cardiac electrophysiology training under Dr. Tom Peter, Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his adult electrophysiology fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital, followed by a pediatric electrophysiology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
Achievements
Dr. Roshan has been a pioneer in introducing Transesophageal EP studies in neonates in India and has published several scientific papers. Dr. Roshan has a special interest in VT ablation and has successfully performed the procedure on a patient with severe ventricular dysfunction, with ECMO backup. This was the first of its kind in Asia. Additionally, he is one of the first physicians in India to use the Tightrail device for ICD lead extraction, an area of interest for him.
Passion
Dr. Roshan enjoys teaching and has conducted several ECG and EP workshops in and around Vellore. He is also a faculty on the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) test writing committee. In his free time, Dr. Roshan likes hiking in National Parks, taking long road trips, and observing wildlife in their natural habitat.
